id="button-link" href="https://co.clickandpledge.com/default.aspx?wid=49815"> Purchase Tickets!</a></p><p>The Outstanding Wilton Democrat has been selected by a committee consisting of Karen Birck, Peggy Reeves, and Joe Dolan.</p><h3>Criteria for Outstanding Democrat of the Year Award</h3><p>The person who is selected for the Outstanding Democrat of the Year Award will have a long and distinguished record of dedicated public service to the Town of Wilton and/or to the Democratic Party.</p><p>He or she will have served successfully as an appointed or elected official or both. This person would preferably have served in several different positions progressively more important</p><p>He or she would be recognized by Wiltonians, including Republicans and Unaffiliated voters, as a person of ability who unselfishly put the interests of Wilton ahead of one’s own for the betterment of the Town. This awardee will have a reputation of achievement, fairness, and good character. His or her works will stand as an example of what every elected or appointed official should strive for.</p><p>The awardee will have also served various Town organizations as a Trustee, Director, or manager where his or her record of service and achievement will also be clear. This event is a question-and-answer forum to give residents a chance to meet the chairpersons of the town’s boards and commissions and ask questions on any topic&#8212;schools, land use, taxes, etc.
In addition to the chairs of Wilton's boards and commissions, Wilton's First Selectman, chief of police chief, and fire chief will also be present to meet with town residents.
Coffee and a light breakfast will be served. The program will be taped for re-broadcast on Wilton’s Government Access Channel (Ch. 79) and is open to the public.

We have a strong <a
href="http://www.wiltondems.org/2010/05/meet-the-2010-candidates/">slate of candidates</a> this year, dedicated to serving the community and making our community, state, and nation better.</p><h3 style="margin-top: 2.8em; clear: both">Absentee Ballots -Your Vote Counts</h3><p>Much of our Town, state, and nation&#8217;s future</a> is dependent on who gets elected. If you will not be in town on election day, you may submit an <a
title="absentee ballot" href="http://www.wiltonct.org/departments/Voter/voter5.html">absentee ballot</a>.</p><h3>Voter Registration</h3><p>We encourage all residents who will be 18 years of age or older by election day to participate in the upcoming election. In order to vote, you must be registered (<a

If you don&#8217;t have a photographic ID, an affidavit prescribed by the Secretary of the State attesting that you are on the official voter list is also acceptable.</p><hr
/><em><strong>Voters with disabilities</strong> can request assistance in completing a ballot from anyone they wish, as long as that person is not an employer, an agent of their employer, or a union representative. Elections officials are also available to assist, upon request. Every polling place has one wheelchair accessible, private voting booth and magnifiers are available in all voting booths for those with trouble reading the ballot. Each polling place also has a vote-by-phone, paper ballot marking system.  Voters with difficulty walking into the polling place may request curbside assistance in voting from an elections official.
