Wilton Registrar Testifies at Capitol
Wilton’s Registrar of Voters Carole Young-Kleinfeld testified on March 1, 2010 at the Capitol in support of a proposed voter protection bill.
Speaking for the Registrars of Voters Association of Connecticut, Ms. Young-Kleinfeld requested that the state legislature prohibit candidates on the ballot from assisting voters who, because of disabilities, require help in casting their ballot. Current state law prohibits employers or the agents of employers or unions from providing assistance at polling places to voters with disabilities.
State Representative Peggy Reeves (Wilton/Norwalk) serves on the Government Administration and Elections Committee which held the public hearing on this bill.
